The site of Bandoko Garden has an important connection with the history of coastal defense in Japan. During the Edo period, the Kishu Domain established a coastal observation post known as a Toomi Bansho here to monitor ships approaching from the sea.

How to Get There
By public transportation: From JR Wakayama Station or Nankai Wakayamashi Station, take the Wakayama Bus Saikazaki Circular Line. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Get off at Saikazaki Yuen bus stop, followed by a walk of approximately 15 minutes.
By car: Bandoko Garden is approximately 20 minutes by car from the Wakayama-minami Smart Interchange on the Hanwa Expressway.
